You can turn on your TV 7 days a week and see heroes like Lebron, Tiger, Mike Trout, Pat Mahomes. But the top female athletes seem to only get the spotlight every 4 years or so. Most of them don’t even have professional leagues to play in. And they’re certainly not household names.

For the past century, we’ve upheld expectations for women. To be pretty, to be gentle, to play nice. Miss America is the anthem of these antiquated views.

But we can help tear down those expectations and set a new standard for the world. Where women play just as hard, practice just as long, sweat and bleed just as much as their male counterparts. And it isn’t pretty. Women don’t play to look good. They play for the love of sport. So let’s turn all eyes, energy, and support in her direction.
